As we get ready to celebrate our K-8 graduating students tonight let’s not forget our Preschool friends, who graduated a week ago in a lovely ceremony held in the auditorium. This rite of passage began, as all things at Rainbow begin, with a centering. Four eager preschoolers lead the whole community in mindful listening, deep breathing, and a blessing of compassion. What followed was the sweetness of young children as they received their diplomas one by one, and then finished the ceremony with a celebratory song led by music teacher, Sue Ford. Our youngest Rainbow students then took a few moments to have one last closing circle with their teachers, before they ran outside to play with their parents at the picnic. Congratulations to all our Dragonflies and Turtles for a year of stupendous growth and heart-warming transformation.

Winter time is a perfect time to come together in community! The whole family is invited to this free funky fun dance party at the Rainbow Community Center in the auditorium at 60 State Street, from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday, February 4th. Preschoolers through Middleschoolers are encouraged to get up on the stage and boogie to their favorite tunes. Rainbow students don’t often get the chance to romp and sway, groove and bounce on the auditorium stage. This is the perfect opportunity to let your kids move their bodies in whatever authentic ways they are inspired to while we gather and mingle in community!

Join us in the Rainbow Community Center to witness our youngest little Rainbows step into their new realm of learning. Our graduation gathering will be followed by a picnic in the outdoor classroom. All are welcome to celebrate the leaps and bounds our Turtles and Dragonflies have taken this past year. They are emerging from this year of Preschool confident in themselves and their relationships, ready to talk about their feelings and activate their dreams.
Please note that the picnic is B.Y.O.L. (Bring Your Own Lunch!)

What a special day it was for our preschoolers!
RCS held their graduation over at the sanctuary on the new property.
Before walking over, both preschool classes held a centering for one last time:
Centering at the Blue Door Preschool.
Once students finished, they made their way to the sanctuary.
Waiting for the graduation ceremony to begin.
Preschoolers began the ceremony by singing their “Hola, Hola” song in Spanish. They sang two other songs, including one in honor of Judith, who is retiring at the end of this school year. Preschool teachers then called up all the students to receive their certificates.
Preschoolers finishing their songs and awaiting their certificates.
It’s such a milestone to graduate!
Now everyone has their certificates! Are they happy or what?
After the ceremony, families gathered for food and sharing. They began with a blessing:

Everyone lined up and the food was yummy! The day turned out beautiful and bright.

It’s so fun to have all our families on campus. They help to make RCS the wonderful place that it is!
Wonderful families at RCS!
We have students who value trust, honesty and love.
Our families are awesome!
