What do Rainbow staff members do for fun after school? Some of us play dodgeball!

These staff members dropped fully into the physical and social domains for an afternoon of fun and connection. Even Hank, the wonder dog and unofficial Rainbow mascot, joined in!

Our Omega 7th and 8th graders recently visited the home of our friend and science expert, Dr. John Bickart, where they learned about molecules and chemical reactions through the lens of cooking food over a fire and observed how various compounds react differently to heat. These impactful lessons are sure to become savored memories for our students!

Our fourth graders have been practicing their arch

Our fourth graders have been practicing their archaeology skills! The class recently took a field trip to the Exploring Joara Foundation (@berrysite rysite) where they were given small terra cotta pots to decorate and then shatter! Later, they watched some footage of archeologists piecing together sherds (Yes, the term is “sherds”... who knew?!) of pottery found at dig sites to recreate artifacts. Students shattered their own pots and worked to piece the sherds together with the same technique archeologists use and realized what a challenge it is - even when you have all the pieces!
