Not only do we celebrate environmental sustainabil

Not only do we celebrate environmental sustainability in our work with students, but we also invite community organizations that align with our mission to host events on our campus.

Most recently Rainbow Community School hosted an event coordinated by Asheville FM on Sunday, July 20th titled: "Voices 3: Women for Climate and the Environment". It was a powerful and uplifting event centering some of the diverse opportunities and advocates in our local climate justice movement.

Equally celebratory was the opportunity to reconnect with alumni parent and event coordinator, Bob Hanna. It is always a joy to see him!

Each day our campers learn a new slime recipe and are exploring a variety of textures and add-ins. Today they made magnetic slime and you can tell by these joyful faces that it was a big hit!

Today our Surf and Turf campers took a trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Graveyard Fields where they hiked, explored, and swam and jumped into the swimming hole at the lower falls. What an amazing way to cool off on a hot summer day!

When you love your school so much that you return to work there...

Did you know that our summer camp staff and volunteer team includes 16 Rainbow Community School alumni and 6 currently-enrolled Omega Middle School students? That is 93% of our summer camp staffing! We also employ two alumni among our faculty and staff during the school year.

Maintaining connection with our alumni is a testament to the strong bonds our teachers nurture with our students and of the impact a Rainbow educational experience has on our students far beyond the doors to our classrooms. We are so very blessed!
