Preschool through fifth grade students are learnin

Preschool through fifth grade students are learning about Black artists from the past and present in their art classes. Students are making art inspired by quilt artists such as Gee’s Bend, Bisa Butler, and Faith Ringgold; painters like Jean Michel Basquiat, Jacob Lawrence, and Clementine Hunter; and collage artist Romare Bearden. While we learn about Black artists all year long, we also celebrate the significant roles, contributions, and achievements of these artists during Black History Month.

In addition to art classes, the Creative Domain is embedded into the curriculum across all grade levels, providing students with a variety of ways to engage in learning through creative processes. One of the most critical times in a child's develo

One of the most critical times in a child's development is the Nine Year Change, a span from 8-10 years old, when they initiate individuation from their caregivers and define the initial roots of their identity. Rainbow not only provides an academically challenging and emotionally responsive environment for our students during this tender time, but also cultivates a strong school to home connection. This partnership fortifies the child’s healthy relationships to self, school, learning and family, supporting thriving far beyond the elementary years.
