It's Throwback Thursday! Today we share a THEN and NOW highlight of a sweet first day of school tradition, the Rose Ceremony.

Every year, our first and eighth grade students came together on the first day of school for our treasured Rose Ceremony - when students in our oldest students welcome our first graders into grade school. Each eighth grader offers a rose to a first grader and wishes them well as they embark on their journey through the grades. This ceremony marks the beginning of a sweet connection between these classes that will culminate in a reciprocal ceremony in May.

Enjoy this collection of throwback photos from 2019, when our current eighth grade class was in first grade, paired with photos from last week when they took their turn presenting roses to welcome the newest crop of first graders to grade school. We look forward to the day when these students get their turn to pass on the tradition.
