Evolving Play-Based Learning to Project-Based Learning

In the elementary years, students are still encouraged to learn through play and their world expands to include more advanced and structured hands-on learning opportunities. Students crave opportunities to solve problems independently and embrace the social nature of project-based learning.

Our fourth graders are learning about ancient civilizations and were recently challenged to make the tallest step pyramids they could using two boxes of sugar cubes and liquid glue. The creativity, logic, and teamwork they used to build their pyramids was impressive!
