With the longest night of the Winter Solstice behind us and a return of light ahead, we wish you and your loved ones a winter break full of joy and rest. May it bring opportunities for reflection, hope, and inner peace. ❤❤❤

Please enjoy these images from our Winter Solstice spiral. The Winter Solstice spiral is a quiet, meditative ritual that symbolizes going into the darkness and emerging with the light. Each participant walks a spiral path alone to light a candle at the center to then place it along the spiral on their way out. Students could also elect to place a natural object along the path in place of a light. The spiral honors the Winter Solstice, while also representing the journey of finding one's inner light amidst the darkness and the promise of the returning light... a beautiful mix of both the spiritual and natural domains.

Wintry Friday afternoons are a perfect time to dip into specialized clubs! Seventh and eighth grade students spend a few weeks diving deep into chess, crafting, digital music creation, and Battle of the Books. These enrichment clubs provide students with opportunities to explore new interests or dive deeper into their current hobbies while growing skills within the creative, mental, and social domains.

It's Throwback Thursday!

Since today is our annual Winter Music Program, we thought we'd look backwards to the same event from 2009. This was before we acquired our Omega Middle School property and when we held our school concerts at other venues, including Lipinsky Auditorium at UNCA. We are so grateful to now have a space on campus where our community can come together in celebration of music and joy.

We are proud to introduce our newest Business Sponsor, Sharon Hyman at In-Joy Therapy and Yoga (@sharoninjoy)!

In-Joy Therapy and Yoga is a one-stop psychotherapy shop that offers a highly individualized approach. Sharon believes in holistic, comprehensive care, and uses a range of tools to help her clients find more joy, improve relationships + social skills, feel better with the life they choose, work through anxiety and depression, build self esteem, and heal.

Sharon serves people of all ages and stages including kids, teens, and young adults. She coaches parents with all sorts of worries and concerns about their children including helping them navigate accessing supports, helping them with their own dis-regulated nervous systems, and feeling more centered about their family life.

January 16, 2026 - This workshop will help you have a creative and excellent toolbox to help your kids get and stay regulated. This one is for you if you feel disregulated yourself, have kids with big emotions or tantrums, have kids with anxiety or any neurodiversity. You’ll learn how to co-regulate, how to teach your kids some skills, and how to embody deep calm and peacefulness.

February 6, 2026 - This workshop builds on the idea that every kid is doing the best they can and that their behavior is communication. What is your kid attempting to tell you, but does not have the words or the adult brain to explain? This workshop is for parents who feel frustrated with specific behaviors that they are seeing in their kids and want advice, support, tools to better help. We will use real life examples of behaviors that are frustrating or complicated and learn strategies with how to help.
