RCS Gets a New Kiln!

Kiln1

With Gratitude…..

Our new kiln has arrived!

We would like to give a big shout out to two RCS parents who have been instrumental in helping to grow our ceramics program. Doug Smith, an amazing potter and father to Clay in Omega, who has been firing student work at his studio for the past 4 years.

He has donated many pounds of clay to our school, and has been advising our art teacher, Tracy, on the purchase of the new kiln.

Steve Schwarz, dad to Graham in second grade, purchased the kiln for Rainbow through his business, Mountain Glass Arts.

The funds for this purchase were raised through two school fundraisers over the past two years.

We teamed up with Zoe’s Kitchen here in Asheville and Art By Me out of Charlotte.

Many thanks to all of you who participated, we could not have done it without the support of our wonderful Rainbow community!

Great News! We are gearing up for another Art by Me fundraiser.

This school year our goal is to have artwork arrive in time for the winter holidays.
