Opening Ceremony is the first time our full presch

Opening Ceremony is the first time our full preschool through eighth grade student body gathers together. Eighth grade students lead a group centering, followed by introductions of teachers and staff and announcements of class names (chosen by the students). As class mascots are introduced, we also explore community-wide values that we seek to hold throughout the year to care for our campus and each other. The ceremony is closed out with a group song circle and ringing of a gong to officially start our school year together. 2025-26 is off to a sweet and joyful start!

We hope you enjoy this sneak peek into the first staggered start day of school for our Green Door Turtle preschool classroom!

Our youngest learners ease into the school year starting with a meet and greet day that offers children and their families individualized time to meet the teachers and explore the classroom. This is followed by two staggered start days in which only half the class attends each day. This allows the children time to connect with the teachers, acclimate to the classroom, and get to know each other before the whole class comes together for the first full week of school. What a sweet and gentle way to transition into the school year!

What is the best way to start the school year as a middle schooler?

With an overnight trip! Last week, our Omega Middle School students spent Thursday and Friday at Camp Grier where they shared in team-building activities, swimming, canoeing, zip lining, and more. We can tell already that this is a special group of 6th-8th graders and we look forward to spending this school year with them!
