Our kindergarten and fourth grade reading buddies took a field trip to the Botanical Gardens to spend the day immersed in nature. We love witnessing the bonds that these sweet classes are forming with one another - so sweet!

Our 4th graders concluded their Botany study with

Our 4th graders concluded their Botany study with a learning celebration today! They spent the past few days working hard on presentations about plant parts, life cycles, pollination, germination, and more. Families were also treated to a sing-a-long and shared a plant-based meal with their students for lunch. These kids have learned so much and we can't wait to see what they learn next!

Our 5th grade students have expanded their knowled

Our 5th grade students have expanded their knowledge of waterways and macroinvertebrates over the course of two immersive educational experiences provided by @river.link . Riverlink brought a stream table to the classroom and students learned expanded their knowledge about rivers, erosion, and flooding through hands-on investigations. Our fifth graders also ventured to West Asheville Park to capture and identify macroinvertebrates and also to do some water testing to determine the health of the creek. Rainbow 5th grade students tested the water for things like phosphate, pH, turbidity and more. They found many sensitive indicator species like salamander and stonefly larvae in addition to water beetles, crayfish, and fish - all of which inform us that the creek is in good health!
