Heather Brown-Power spent most of her life living and working across the diverse landscapes of northern and southern California. Recently, seeking a change of pace, she and her husband along with their beloved feline companions, made a move to the magical Appalachian mountains. With this move she was calling in new possibilities with a desire to learn deep lessons from the wisdom of the land.

Heather is immensely passionate about adolescents and the exploration of their budding identities. She is dedicated to witnessing and facilitating this journey through an inquiry-based curriculum enriched with a focus on the social and emotional domains. Her educational philosophy centers on building trust and rapport, amplifying sovereignty, and promoting voice and choice. Heather’s approach is rooted in fostering deep personal connections and meaning-making, developing themes that encourage emergent revelation and understanding. Above all, she values laughter and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Heather is a poet, an artist, and a maker. She finds joy in learning and being curious, engaging in all kinds of physical activities, expressing herself through her unique personal style, and exploring new music. Heather also loves listening to podcasts, traveling, and immersing herself in coffee, tea, and spa culture wherever she goes. Gardening with her husband and deepening her spirituality through nature, breath, and movement are also among her cherished activities. Heather’s multifaceted interests and her commitment to personal growth and connection, define her vibrant and holistic approach to life.
