Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Bali Mitchell (they/them) is married to a wonderful husband and has three children who all attend Rainbow.
Bali graduated from Meredith College in the Spring of 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Child Development with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorder.
They have facilitated many racial equity discussions and are passionate about continued learning, especially regarding social justice. Bali was a Parent Educator through a nonprofit before joining the Rainbow Community. As a Parent Educator, they went into parents’ homes to discuss child development and parenting issues. Also, they would bring different types of play with common toys or household items and share resources. Bali worked in various classroom settings throughout their careers. They are a Birth Doula through their own business and with the community-based program SistasCaring4Sistas. SC4S focuses on providing Doula services to Black, Indigenous, & People of Color and people dealing with addiction. They also regularly volunteer to help those marginalized and educate about various social justice issues, particularly reproduction, racial, and LGBTQIA+ justice. Bali is ecstatic to be in this community and share this experience with their children.
When not working or volunteering, Bali enjoys spending their time laughing with friends & family, hiking, gardening, and herbalism. Bali can be reached at bali.mitchell@rainbowlearning.org.
