Originally from Central Pennsylvania, Abbey moved to Asheville in 2017. Abbey has taught ballet, theater camps, urban composting workshops, and worked with children of all ages. After a career in arts and entertainment management in New York City, the mountains of Western North Carolina were calling her name. Abbey joined Rainbow in 2023 as a 2nd Grade Assistant Teacher and is thrilled to be the current Afterschool Director. Rainbow Community School is a haven for Abbey, providing endless excitement, community, and hope for the future.

Abbey’s passion for working with young people is inspired by her parents, who were elementary and middle school educators. Abbey is a collector of hobbies, from carpentry to fiber arts, to vegan cheese-making and paddleboarding. She lives on a farm in the forest with her two children.
