Liza recently relocated to Asheville from East TN, where she founded an Agile Learning Center for homeschooled children ages 5-13. The Center provided a space for homeschooling families to have social interactions in a mixed-age group through the lens of self-directed education. Liza is passionate about meeting children where they are, and her approach and experience are grounded in great respect for each child and their educational experience. Before moving to East TN, Liza lived in Seattle, WA, for 15 years. There, she worked in a self-contained classroom as an Instructional Assistant for grades K-3, serving students with ASD. She was also an assistant teacher at a Montessori preschool.

Liza loves spending time with her family out in nature, swimming, building with Legos, crafting, reading, life-schooling together, and meeting new friends on the parenting/homeschooling journey.
