In high school, Kore spent summers volunteering as a camp counselor with Camp Opportunity in Santa Cruz, CA. After high school, they took a gap year to travel, which included three months of au pairing for families in Spain. Then they went to college for environmental social studies in Oregon and California. Along the way, they did a range of childcare services, from nannying to working in a nursery and taking doula courses. In 2019, Kore moved to North Carolina and got a real estate license. Over the years, they’ve done work exchanges on farms while traveling in the US and Europe, including childcare and tutoring. After moving to Asheville in 2024, Kore got their first school-setting job working with toddlers at a Montessori preschool. They have been taking ECE classes towards teaching preschool ever since.

More than any other strategy or philosophy, Kore supports progressive methods similar to those of the Montessori, Waldorf, or Reggio models. These match their personal outlook, which prioritizes building relationships with children, nonintervention, scaffolding learning, and a strong positive connection to nature.

In their free time, Kore has been practicing yoga for over a decade and enjoys making art through painting, pottery, and writing. Baking, herbalism, astrology, and movies are among their other interests and hobbies. They are passionate about the rights, freedom, and comfort of all living beings. Kore does their best to understand each child individually to help meet them where they are and progress their learning while they still feel heard and respected.
