Jay Lasley – Omega Student Support Advocate

Jay is invested in creating a transformative middle school experience for every student. After working with youth domestically and internationally in college, she graduated from Florida State University and became a middle school language arts teacher. During that time, Jay was recognized for her role in strong student growth and earned an M.Ed. in Educational Change from Lehigh University. She later moved to Medellin, Colombia for a year before returning to the classroom to teach high school English and special education.

Jay’s approach to education and adolescent development is centered around the core values of inclusion, connection, and curiosity. As part of the Rainbow community, she takes pride in advocating for learning that accommodates diverse student needs. She is excited to work together with students as they become the best version of themselves.

In addition to her work in education, Jay spent four years as a professional photographer and is an avid hobbyist. She enjoys racquetball, traveling (30+ countries and counting), scuba diving, live music, and outdoor adventures. She also competes in Scrabble tournaments and wants to learn how to make stained glass.
