Kate Brantley PreK - 3rd Division Head

Kate Brantley – PreK – 3rd Division Head

As the P-3 Division Head, Kate (she/her) works collaboratively with Rainbow’s admin team, the early elementary teachers, families and students to ensure that all children are set up for success in their learning experiences through all 7 domains. She views the image of the child as a competent, capable and curious learner and strives to maintain partnerships with the families of Rainbow so that we are working together on this educational journey.

Kate has extensive experience in the field of Early Childhood Education and is a Level III Administrator in a licensed preschool setting. She also has her BA in English: Creative Writing from High Point University, as well as her M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Boston University. Kate has taught reading through the Orton-Gillingham multisensory method and also is interested in Piaget’s schema theory, loose parts and natural outdoor learning environments, and the Reggio Emilia approach, also known as constructivism.

When she is not working at Rainbow, Kate and her family enjoy hiking, playing in creeks, running and riding bikes around Asheville. She also likes to cook and bake, create art and spend time with friends. Kate lives with her husband Cameron, and their 2 children, Jeff and Harper. Kate can be reached at kate.brantley@rainbowlearning.org.
