Red Herring – Bluedoor Preschool Lead Teacher

Red has been a part of the Rainbow staff since 2021, supporting the evolution of our preschool program and their own educational journey. Taking on advanced training and responsibilities with every opportunity, Red is poised to step into the role of Lead Blue door teacher with ease and purpose. They bring years of partnership with prior Lead Preschool Teacher, Lauren, and their own expertise in growing the whole child and fostering a positive early learning environment. 

Red grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and moved to Asheville to attend Warren Wilson College. They have lived right here in West Asheville since they graduated. Some of Red’s favorite parts of their job are fostering a love of nature by experimenting in our preschool gardens, following the interests of the Dragonfly class to set out new materials in the classroom, and providing families a glimpse of the children’s magical time at school through shared photos. Red is happy to work at a school where they feel comfortable sharing their whole personhood.
