Red Herring – Preschool Assistant Teacher

Red was welcomed into the Blue Door classroom family in 2021. Red grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Asheville to attend Warren Wilson College. They have lived right here in West Asheville since they graduated. Some of Red’s favorite parts of their job are fostering a love of nature by experimenting in our preschool gardens, following the interests of the Dragonfly class to set out new materials in the classroom, and providing families a glimpse of the children’s magical time at school through shared photos. Red is happy to work at a school where they feel comfortable sharing their whole personhood.
