Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Rose has been working as an outdoor educator in Western North Carolina for three years and has officially made Asheville home. She first found a love of both the outdoors and education through working for the Outdoor Adventure Program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Ever since, she has been devoted to gaining experience in facilitating alternative approaches to education through outdoor learning. She is continuously inspired by the growth and resiliency demonstrated by students when they are offered challenges and the freedom to explore. She truly believes that there is more in us than we know and tries to instill that sentiment within her students.

When she’s not facilitating student experience, Rose loves to play outside. Some of her favorite activities are skiing, road and trail running, whitewater rafting, and playing Bananagrams in the park. She enjoys storytelling, scrapbooking, and spending quality time with loved ones.
