Scholastic Book Fair is at Rainbow Mountain

Scholastic Book Fair is at Rainbow Mountain

The Scholastic Book Fair is now underway at Rainbow Mountain Children’s School. There is a great selection of gift books, preschool books, teen books, fiction and nonfiction and even some cookbooks. I think the hottest seller so far is the new “Diary of a Whimpy Kid; Cabin Fever”. Everybody loves it and if you haven’t yet read any of the Whimpy Kid Diaries you can purchase all of them at our book fair.

The book fair continues this afternoon, 2:30 to 4:30 and tomorrow, Wednesday 7 December 8:00 to 9:30 and 1:00 to 4:00. Come check it out.

You can also shop online at Scholastic’s site where the selection is even greater. Shop during our fair and all sales earn books for our school.

Book Signing

A Pink Dolphin Bringing People Together

Rainbow 4th-grader, Thomas McDermott Post, and Mayor Billy Keyserling of Beaufort, SC, came together Monday for a book signing and discussion. Their book, A Pink Dolphin, tells a story about community coming and working together during difficult times.

Thomas beamed as he sat in front of classmates, schoolmates and parents with Mayor Keyserling talking about what inspired him to write the story, how they worked together, and what it’s like to publish a book.

Author Maureen Healy Shares Her Insights

Author Maureen Healy came to Rainbow last week for a discussion with parents about how to foster a child’s happiness. Maureen has recently released her new book, “365 Perfect Things to Say to Your Kids ” which she shared with us. It was a real pleasure to be there and learn from Maureen and the other parents. We hope Maureen will come back and share more of her wisdom.

From Maureen’s web site:

Maureen’s groundbreaking book, 365 Perfect Things to Say to Your Kids, is making quite a splash in the world of conscious parenting.   Her unique background blends Eastern and Western thinking so that parents, grandparents, childcare specialists and any adult can learn simply yet powerful tools of fostering a child’s joy.
