Our beloved Parent Council has been honored by PTO Today as the Runner-up Parent Group of the Year for Outstanding Parent Group at a Private or Parochial School! PTO Today is a nationally recognized magazine that highlights parent-teacher organizations and their service to schools.

Parent Council is also highlighted in the current edition of PTO Today for their idea to sell Green Picnic Kits at school events in effort to minimize our impact on the environment!
“The Parent Council at Rainbow Community School in Asheville, N.C., prioritized the environment by creating “green” food service kits. Contained in a nylon string backpack, each kit has plates, cups, and flatware. Families purchase the kits and bring them to events, reducing the need for disposable food service items at potlucks, picnics, and school celebrations.” – PTO Today, September 2015
Green Picnic Kits can be purchased in the main office. Each kit includes dishes and utensils to serve four.
