Emmaly Rogalski – 5th Grade Teacher
Emmaly Rogalski is excited to be returning for her third year at Rainbow Community School as the 5th grade teacher for the 2020-21 school year. She is an elementary educator with thirteen years of teaching experience in both charter and private school settings and has a true passion for education. She is eager, fun-loving, dependable, and willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of her students.
Emmaly is enthusiastic about education and the Montessori method. Her career has been devoted to the study and teaching of the method both to children and adults. This has been intertwined with her work in integrating state standards and Montessori curriculum. She has worked in two charter schools and has extensive experience with common core standards, state assessments, and how to address the needs of diverse learners. Her work in both private Montessori and public education gives her a unique perspective and a holistic approach to education, pulling from the best of both worlds.
Emmaly feels confident in her ability to provide a comprehensive curriculum and a fun classroom environment. Hands-on maniupulatives across subject areas, fostering independent learners, following the child in their educational journey, project-based learning, and character education are what she considers to be the key pieces of any educational philosophy. The seven domains and the twelve guiding principles of Rainbow Community School, her personal philosophy, and that of Montessori are in perfect alignment.
For eight years, Emmaly taught lower elementary and for the last five years taught upper elementary. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as a double major with degrees in Elementary Education (concentration in Visual and Performing Arts) and Psychology. Currently she holds teaching certificates in both FL and CA in General Subject K-6 education. In addition, she has earned credentials in Montessori Education accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) from the American Montessori Society in the education of 6-9 year olds and Montessori Live for 6-12 year olds. She served as a mentor teacher in the classroom and faculty member in teacher training programs in her last two positions. At RCS, she serves as the Faculty Circle Facilitator in addition to her classroom duties.
Emmaly loves to sing, dance, direct plays, and play games of all sorts. She is an amateur gardener and loves sharing that hobby with her students. In her free time she can be found traveling with her husband and daughter, hiking, paddle boarding, reading, or practicing yoga.
